Our industry partner Zanders has offered a Masterclass "Financial Risk Management" on the 26 February 2020, 15:00-18:00, followed by a small apéro
Lecturer: Mr Zaid Ziddiqi, Manager Financial Risk Management at Zanders
Content: 3 parts which help to understand the business model of a bank:
- Valuation and discounting, where the valuation of a mortgage performed. The students are challenged to determine the “correct” spread for the different components (credit, funding etc.) in the valuation.
- Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, where the balance sheet of a bank is observed from a “value” and an “earnings” perspective. The students are challenged to determine the asset and liability mix that stabilizesearnings as well as economic value sensitivity.
- Modelling of non-maturing deposits, where behavioural aspects such as in- and outflow of savings volume are modelled and explained. Together with the students we determine the replicating portfolio strategy thatbest mimics the outflow behaviour of clients.
